Global Aggregate Strategy

John Beck, Co-Director and Portfolio Manager for Fixed Income Group

John is co-director of global fixed income for the Franklin Templeton Fixed Income Group and is responsible for managing portfolios for major institutions, comprising multinational pension funds and supranational organisations. John is a member of the Fixed Income Policy Committee. Prior to joining the firm in 1990, he was with Saudi International Bank for three years. John earned an M.A. from Exeter College, Oxford University.

David Zahn, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Fixed Income Group

David is a manager of Global Aggregate and Euro Aggregate fixed income portfolios and is also a member of the Fixed Income Policy Committee. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2006, he was a senior portfolio manager at Citigroup Asset Management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder. John earned his BS in business administration from the University of Maine and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Michael Hasenstab, Senior Vice President

Michael is senior vice president for the Franklin Templeton Fixed Income Group and co-director of the group’s international bond department, overseeing the global fixed income portfolio management team and investment strategies. He specialises in global macroeconomic analysis with a focus on currency, interest rate, and sovereign credit analysis of developed and emerging market countries. In addition, he is a member of the group’s Fixed Income Policy Committee and is a portfolio manager for a number of Franklin Templeton funds.

Michael initially joined Franklin Templeton Investments in July 1995. After a leave of absence to obtain his doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree, he rejoined the company in April 2001. He has worked and travelled extensively, with a special focus on Asia. He has won numerous awards globally, including being named Top US and Global Bond Fund Manager by Bloomberg Markets in 2009, Global Bond Manager of the Year by Investment Week in 2008 and Best Global Manager by Standard & Poor's/Business Week in 2006.

Michael earned a PhD in economics from the Asia Pacific School of Economics and Management at Australian National University, a Master’s degree in economics of development from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations/political economy from Carleton College in the United States.
