New head of Advance
Asset Management Limited (Advance).
Advance is the St.George Group’s specialist funds management arm and delivers Diversified Multi-Blend Funds, Sector Multi-Blend Funds and Single Manager Sector Funds to investors.
Advance presently manages over 60 specially designed funds; has over 80,000 investors; and nearly $7 billion funds under management covering investments, superannuation and pensions.
Folkes will be responsible for distributing these funds to advisers and investors. Folkes has over 16 years experience within the financial services industry and was a financial adviser for some years. For the past five years he was a National Account Manager with Goldman Sachs JBWere.
In announcing the appointment, Wayne Wilson, General Manager Distribution and Sales, St.George Wealth Management, said “Advance has a unique position in the managed funds industry, especially for the rigorous approach it takes to fund manager selection and fund manager oversight.”
“Peter’s extensive experience developing and managing investment products and client relationships, and personal experience as a financial adviser, well suits him for leading Advance’s distribution team,” he added.
Peter Folkes, Head of Advance said “I am pleased to be joining a team with 20 plus years experience in delivering managed funds to investors and to be working alongside the St.George Investment Solutions team who design and manage the funds.”
